What's your take on this?

I went for an interview at a Dentists office on Monday. Everything went really well; she even mentioned that I could shadow people to give me some additional experience. She kept mentioning that I would be a great fit and that she wanted me to come back to see exactaly what I would be doing, meet with someone for the day.....She even mentioned that if I worked there I would have reduced dental coverage for my family- which was great since my oldest needs braces.

This would have been a good fit, I am working toward a dental hygienist certification. She was extatic; and mentioned that she hoped I would stay with them.

I was told she would get back to me on what day she wanted me to come back up there by the end of the week....

I never heard back. I called and left two messages for her to show my interest, but nothing.

I am so depressed. I wanted to leave my job so bad. The thought of coming back on Monday is making me sick to my stomach. I have tears in my eyes....

What's your take on this?
If you called and left her messages and you have not heard back, then call it a done deal. No use chasing a lead that has gone bad. I know it does not help that you were hoping on this, but shi_ happens. Keep up with your schooling and don't lose focus on the important things.....

Good Luck.
Reply:go stop by the office as you on an errand around there any...give her some peanutbrittle, just to be nice
Reply:So you were going to quit your current job with NO notice? I would bet when she went back to the owner he/she questioned if they wanted to hire someone that is so easy to walk away from an employer. That alone might have left some misgivings.

Or, she has had an emergency and hasn't checked her messages or worked.

Or, another fire popped up and this fell to the bottom of her list.

Sorry, but if I were you I would plan on going to your regular job on Monday.

And if you haven't done it, write her a thank you note which re-iterates your excitement at the opportunity.
Reply:I work in Human Resources. Sadly, you may never find out the reason. From personal experience - could be the employer was put off by information received after your interview. My suggestion. Send her a letter thanking her for the interview. Mention how much you want the position. Good Luck!
