Chipped the back of my tooth! HELP!!!!!! SOLDIER IN NEED!!!!?

Ok so im a soldier in the US army and im currently deployed in afghanistan. i just came to afghanistan on tour a week and a half ago but i forgot my tooth brush!!!! i asked my family to mail me one but i havent gotten it yet.

then just now, after not brushing for a week and a half, i felt a jagged edge on the back of my lower front tooth so i started rubbing at it gently then all of a sudden, the tooth starts chipping at the back!!!!

i saw the pieces of the tooth in my hand! now the back of the tooth is slightly rough. it doesn't hurt or anything, its not sensitive too heat or cold, and it doesnt hurt when i poke it with my tongue. it was a really small chip, barely anything at all.

problem is our medical units have been delayed since we're far away from the battlezone. we're about 10 km from the pakistani border. so theres no army dentists or anything! what do i do!? is the tooth chip serious? will the tooth decay?

thanks and god bless america

Don't worry, it might just be some tartar buildup on the back of your teeth that's just chipping off. If it's not sensitive to hot or cold and not sensitive when you bite into something, I wouldn't think that there is anything to worry about. As far as trying to brush your teeth, you can use a washcloth and your finger and just try to get in there as best you can until your toothbrush arrives.

Good Luck and thanks for all that you do to keep our country safe!! :)
Reply:It shouldn't be anything to worry about, you probably got the chip from the harsh training that u guys do to keep us safe and our freedom strong.
Reply:first of all god bless you and keep you safe. being so far a way i doubt if you have any but if you have any sugarless gum chew it and put it over the tooth. it will protect against cavities and help if its sensitive. and it wont be poking your cheek or any thing. and ill pray for you and for a save return.
Reply:oh yeah you need to get it fixed! i didn't do mine for awhile then the root was exposed and it hurt so bad! they can just pull it. real easy! You need to soon, b/c my cavity spread to the next tooth over too. :( more money and more time at the dentist :( chew on the opposite side of course :)
