Reply:go to the dental college and have a student-dentist do it for free
(ask for an 'A' student)
Reply:pain medicating
Reply:To ease the pain, try rubbing ice in the palm of your hand. It's an old home remedy but it seems to take some of the pain away. I know it sounds weird but it works.
Reply:Anbesol. It will only help for a short time but it does the trick. I would see a dentist as well.
Reply:oil of cloves will help numb it but won't cure it. Is it absessed? or just decay? or something else?
Reply:Cinnamon oil. It's available anywhere in Chinatown (not racist, but it's an Asian specialty) or you can make your own - Crush cinnamon, add water, leave for 6 hours, remove oil floating as the top layer.
Apply cinnamon oil to aching tooth thoroughly! This is important.
Reply:Yeesh. Keep trying to find him a dentist, since there are some who will work with low-income families. In the meantime, an anti-inflammatory drug (e.g. Advil) should help him with the toothache. Also, he should be avoiding hot, cold, crunchy, and sugary foods---hot or cold packs on part of the face nearest the offending tooth might help, however, as there is nothing coming into direct contact with the offending tooth. Encourage your son to brush and floss three times a day for at least two minutes, and also recommend that he uses toothpaste and mouthwash designed for sensitive teeth.
On a personal note, I'm sorry to hear about this. I know that it's hard to see someone you love in pain.
Reply:Advil has done wonders for me
Reply:Clove spice, get either powdered and put a bit of water in it to make a paste and put it on the tooth or get the whole "pod" and put it in the mouth. This should help or get some oragel from the pharmacy - it's an otc type drug.
Reply:If he is in pain right now he can take a double dose of ibuprofen and then continue with the regular dose every 4 hours. It takes more medication to relieve pain than it does to prevent it (I was told this by a dentist) and keep a tube of adult strength oragel (store brand works just as good) on hand and just keep going with that until you find a dentist
Good luck
Reply:Whiskey works great!!! Rub it on your gums and it will numb your gums. Also try crushing up an aspirin and putting that on your gums, that works well too...
I just read the part about the medical card, there should be clinics in your area that will take them, I have that, I live in NJ, and there are clinics that you can go to here for your teeth....
Try calling the emergency room at your local hospital, they should be able to direct him to the proper place..
Also, try calling the number on the back of your card, they should be able to help him find one in the area....
However, for some temporary relief, try the emergency room at the hospital, at least they can give you some pain medicine and a shot of Novocaine to numb the tooth..
Toothaches are terrible, so good luck and I hope you feel better real soon!
And yes, our health care situation does stink in this country....
Hopefully someone in the future can do something better for the uninsured.....
Reply:Advil and some oragel. That's what I had to use when I had a an infected tooth (absolutly painfull as heck!). He may have to see if he can get into an office and pay out of pocket instead of relying on the card (that's what I did, resolved my issue in 2 days).
Reply:I had a horrible tooth ache and I needed a root canal real bad but my dentist couldn't get me in for 2 months!!! I hate to say this but I tried everything and the only thing that helped was vicodin. If you can get to a doctor or your family dentist they could probably work with while you have to wait. Tooth pain is almost the worst kind b/c there's nothing over the counter that really helps...however try everythin I know it didn't work for me but may work for others. Good Luck!!!
Reply:cloves
Reply:Try dabbing oil of clover on the affected area. Clove oil is exceptional at taking away tooth pain. I have never tolerated pain medications and when I had four teeth extracted, all I could do was use oil of clove and I'm telling you it took the pain away.
I can't say that I like the smell, but it works!!
Reply:I find that anbasel works well. You know the gel that you use for mouth sores. It works temporarily. You should put it on your gum line and allow it to penetrate through to your nerves. Its those damn nerves they hurt badly. He might need a root canal. I've had 2 done. It wasn't that bad, people make it out to be worst than what it really is. If he is have extreme sensitivity then it could be a cavity. You can try changing toothpastes to sensydyne. That helped me when i had sensitivity in my gums. Good luck . I hope things work out.
Reply:clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and, sometimes, may even cure it. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. It will make the cure teeth making it strong and healthy
Include more raw vegetables in his diet
Reply:Toothaches are painful but can be prevented
by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride
toothpaste. I found the information at
