I need advice...?

So here's the thing. My mom took off work on Friday to take me to the dentist. Then she wanted to take me to the doctor too.





She's kinda mad because my boyfriend asked me to come to a city nearby with his family (I want to meet his family). and so now I'd like her to cancel the dentist so I can go, and the doctor. She's kinda mad.





What should I do? Should I just not go with my boyfriend? I need advice!

well if your mom already took the day off to take care of you. I know you want to meet his parents, but what about your parents? Just do what you think should be done. but try to put yourself in your mother's shoes and think how you would feel. she's only doing it because she cares about you, trust me, some parents never take their children to the doctor or dentist, you should actually appreciate what you have and a mother that is willing to take the day off from work to take you :)





there's always another day to meet the in laws :)

Reply:Well, Mandieee, you're mom is just worried about you going all the way to another city with your boyfriend. You are obviously still young (yes, I know you think you're totally grown up, but when you're 25, you'll look back and realize you weren't.) Anyway, I'd say to respect your mom, and have your boyfriend come around more often, to get to know your family more and your mom can trust him more. However, if she sees something not quite right about his behavior toward you, you should listen to her, because she can see alot of stuff you can't. She's just protecting you! Just go to the appointments, and have a good time with your mom. Show her that you still love and respect her, and she'll feel a little better about you having a boyfriend. There will be other times to meet his parents / family.

Dentist and doctor appointments, especially when your mom has to take off work, take precedence over a last minute request by a boyfriend.
