Could I bring my 3 yr old to the dentist?

Every dentist office I called said that she has to be atleast 5 yrs old. My problem is that my family gets cavities easily. And unfortunately she has cavities, doesn't help that my mom gives her candy but I still brush her teeth and floss them. I know they're just baby teeth and will fall out but it looks bad and I don't want it to get to the point where she's in pain and can't eat. I need help with this. Also my other problem is she freaks out at doctor visit and I have to hold her. I can't take her to the dentist like that can I?

Could I bring my 3 yr old to the dentist?
Every decent size city has pediatric dentist's offices. Cavities in baby teeth can easily be transferred to adult teeth. Your child is only three and will have most of those same teeth when she is seven, that is too long to go without addressing the problem. I recently took my three year old son to a great dentist in the Toledo, OH area. The doctor was great and treated my son for a cavity. The pamphlet he showed me would leave no doubt in your mind that problems need to be taken care of.

As for your daughter's reaction to doctors? That is why God made Nitrous Oxide.
Reply:explain to the dentist she needs treatment. otherwise cut back on the bad stuff. you need to start goodmouth habits early

good luck
Reply:Go to your pediatrician- %26amp; ask him/her to recommend a good childs dentist. There's GOTTA be some out there...
Reply:That seems odd. We've been taking my daughter since she's had teeth. We take her to our family dentist. You might try checking with a pediatric dentist. www.aapd.org will let you search for a pediatric dentist by city and state.

My daughter is 10 now and sits in the dentist's chair on her own, but her mother or I sit beside her. When she was little, one of us would sit in the dentist chair and she would sit on our lap and just lean back against us.
Reply:Wow, not sure where you reside but here in California they actually recommend that a child visit a dentist by age 2 if not a bit earlier. You should definitely look into it and take her asap. Even if she is scared of doctors. It would be worse down the line. I know its easy to believe its only baby teeth, however cavities, can run deep into nerves, gums, and canals, thus infecting other teeth and even an entire jaw, causing headaches , and earaches. Take your child to a dentist. She relies on you to make the good decisions, show her what your made of :) Find a dentist that specializes in children and do your best to prep her and get her comfortable with the idea of going. :) Also , stay away from gummy, or sticky candy that does not dissolve quickly as these tend to sit on the teeth and rot them faster, and keep up the good work with brushing and flossing. ;)
Reply:in the UK, 3 yeras is the right time do bring a toddler to the dentist, explain the situation and insist u want her to see a dentist, dont take NO for an answer
Reply:Look for a pediatric dentist.
