What is tooth calcium deficiency?

I know there are a lot of dental hygenists, nurses and dentists in here, plus a lot of people with a freakish knowledge of teeth. So here goes...

My dentist told me I have a calcium deficiency... something I was born with. I have tons of dental problems for a 19 year old. I've underwent 3 root canals in this past year and I know I have thousands of dollars of work sitting in my mouth.

Unfortunately, I'm also busy getting a $100,000 undergraduate education, and I come from a poor family. So education is my first concern, but the future of my mouth is up there.

So I'm wondering... have any of you heard of this? What does it mean? I know that teeth are made of calcium, so does having a deficiency make it easier for cavities? What exactly should I be doing?

Thoughts appreciated.

When we see patients that have a lot of cavities or have a calcium deficiency we do recommend a fluoride supplement. "Lozi-Flur" is a prescription fluoride lozenger taken one time per day to help maintain your teeth and reduce the possibility of more cavities from starting. Ask your DDS if there is a fluoride supplement you can take. It won't help the existing problems you have already acquired, but it can help cut down your future problems.

Concerning your current situation, have your DDS give you an idea of which dental problems need to take priority and take care of the worst situations first and work backwards, some times there are less expensive options as a temporary fix until your income and education are more stable. Best of luck!
Reply:I had a fracture and due to calcium deficiency developed since bones need calcium(apparently both bones and teeth)so i had alot of dental work cavities had 2 of them removed.

You can get temporary relief my cousin whose a dentist told me to have alot of calcium products and make sure i have a calcium rich diet and considering things now things are looking up and its been a very long time since my last work.

So hopefully this should help and keep you going until you finish your studies. If you have questions you can ask my cousin drasdentist@gmail.com
