she thinks I am overspending?!?!?
I always make sure my family is being taken care of, but I got a pair of glasses and she wants to know how come my husband who got his glasses last year can't get a new pair. When this is my first new pair in 6 years?
AND...let's rush him to the dentist because his cheek hurts. But, I need to go because I haven't been in 5 years?
She really ticks me off. I will never understand her logic!
How come my MIL wants to make sure my hubby gets to the dentist, doctor, and optometrist, but if I need to go?
That woman has control issues. Her son also has to stand up to her. I HAD a MIL like that, now I'm divorced (after 10 yrs). Read Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud %26amp; Dr. John Townsend. I wish I had years ago.
Reply:Thats her little boy! She obviously hasn't figured out that he is a grown man who is married and has a family. Her duty shouldn't be making sure he gets to his appointments and how much is being spent - that is between you and your hubby. Her only concern now should be about grandchildren and the general well being of her son AND his wife.
Reply:MIL sounds like a B***H, LOL, Why is she in your and his business anyways? I would tell hubby that yours and his finances are yours and his business not mothers. If she isn't be told then she wont have anything to say about it. Good luck.
Reply:Why does your MIL need to know when you both go to the dentist, Dr. etc, in the 1st place?
When you feel that you "have to" start answering to the MIL you're doomed honey.
When Nosey overbearing MIL asks another question........shoot back with........"why would you ask?" period! If that doesn't shut the old blister up then point blank, kindly ask her to mind her own business.
She ticks you off b/c you are allowing her to have information that is NONE OF HER BUSINESS!
You will NEVER ever have the same relationship with her that she has with her son; Give it up. You must set your mind to this........Create your "own" relationship with her. That is the only way that it will ever work.
But, again....what you do in your personal life is none of her meddling business!
