Mystery Animal?

Okay, so a few weeks back I saw a documentary on an animal that I thought looked amazing, and I've been trying to show this animal to my family. Its sort of small and looks "reptilian". It reminds me of a porcupine except with hard plates instead of needles, or a armadillo maybe. Then when I looked in Highlights at the dentists office a while back, I saw him in their too. I cannot remember the name though for the life of me. I know they are endangered. It starts with a P or a Q, I think..... Any Ideas?

Mystery Animal?
There is a (long) list at Wikipedia. You might try to see if you can find it there.

Reply:It definitely sounds like an armadillo. We have ALOT of them here in Florida.
Reply:Easy that's a Pangolin
Reply:Echidna? Tuatara? It could be a Pangolin, most likely. Yes, it has scales all over it's body.
Reply:My guess would be Pangolin.. http://www2.sims.berkeley.edu/courses/is...

Reply:It's probably a Pangolin from what you're describing.
Reply:I would deffinetly say the Pangolin. Pangolin's have plates and some of them roll into a ball for protection. There are many species of Pangolin, the Giant Pangolin, for example lives in Africa. The Small-Scale Tree and Black Bellied Pangolin lives in Africa as well. The Small-Scaled Pangolin has a prehensile tail, as well. The Indian, Chinese, and Malayan Pangolin all obviously dwell in Asia.
