Flying with sensitive tooth?

Hello all,

A family member in her early 60s went in for a dentist appt after feeling occasional pain/sensitivity in her upper left teeth (wisdom area). The dentist recommended an extraction as there is some tartar and bone loss there. She denied to have the tooth extracted as she felt a lot of pain the past.

Now, is it recommended to fly with tooth problems? Do they get worse or not affected by altitude?

I personally don't have any problem teeth, yet. But I've wondered what type of toothbrush and paste do others use?

Let me know. Thanks:)

Flying with sensitive tooth?
Recent, I flew to Denver, Co, with an infected molar. Luckily, before we left, I went to the dentist. I had the penicillin pills to take, along with a pain killer (hydrocodone). Yes, the pressure of going up and down will make the tooth area ache. I think it will also depend on the amount of pain your family member is having. Havethey tried a sensitive toothpaste? That's what I use - one for sensitive teeth. Also, sometimes Ambesol works. As you know, be careful of hot and cold foods, and any hard, sticky foods that could stick to the teeth.
