I took my son to the dentist & he said he has baby bottle tothe decay. hes only 1 1/2. what should i do?

i bursh his teeth 3 times a day. but it is my fault he got the dacay because i found out to late that milk as well as juice can decay thier teethj when they are sleepin. but it is not just from my mottle because my son has been on a sippy cup since he was 8 months old. any way. they want to cap his teeth and i feel like he is so young for that. they told me the way they do it at thier office would be to strap him to a chair and only numb his gums with a shot and hed be awake through the it all. the other ways might cost me 500 dollars because i have medical and the cost of anesthia. but i dont kno if theyll let me in the room.. the thought of them putting my infant to sleep and working on him without me bieng present scares the crap out ot me. i dunno what i should do, my family says i shouldnt do anything that hes to young and the dentist jump to capping teeth.. but i dont want his future teeth messed up or for him to be in pain or have his teeth pulled later! has anyone been here?

My husband does anesthesia. It's safe and the easiest on the toddler. They may allow you to be with your baby until he falls asleep for the procedure but you won't be permitted inthe room during the procedure. He's tiny and it will be too difficult to have an extra person in the room. It's best to allow the professionals to do what they do best. Then you can be back with him as he wakes up.





Don't put this off. He will be miserable when the decay gets so deep that he has a lot of pain. It's dangerous to let the teeth rot to the core. Get it done so he can eat and drink and grow normally. Good luck!!
Reply:Putting the baby to sleep procedure is best. My grandchild had it done. Dont worry about how much it cost. You can always send a little here and a little there. I think being awake is much too dramatic for a baby.
