What kind of Doctor should i go to for TMJ?

Which docter is the best for TMJ Dentists, Chiropractor or just my Family Docter???

What kind of Doctor should i go to for TMJ?
Start with a dentist. He/She may refer you to an Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist. Don't worry; it's not as bad as it sounds!!

Please follow my advice. :)
Reply:A dentist is best to go to. A chiropractor will take too many visits to fix it (expense) and a doctor will probably just medicate it.
Reply:Definitely start with your regular dentist, especially if they're a person you trust. I had a pain that my physician said was TMJ, got some anti-inflammatories, and coped with the pain til it was unbearable. Then my dentist told me I had a broken tooth. :x One week and a root canal later, I was feeling better than I had in six months!
Reply:Chiropractic will provide the least invasive and addictive way to approach TMJ dysfunction - the least amount of harm. I have seen people undergo many hours of painful bite reconstruction through muscle relaxers and the dental drill, with poor results. Prevention of grinding while sleeping with plates often meets with similar results. Medication does not correct the cause and has side effects, some of which can make the problem worse.

Insurance may make it cheaper to seek dental or medical treatments. This, especially in the case of medicine, is politically motivated to spread misinformation and eliminate competition in further attempts to monopolize heath care.

Chiropractic will provide the least harm and may actually correct the problem, thus reducing future expenditures.
