that the Gen 1 and gen 2 systems were aweful, i just talked to my dentist office, Family First dental in Naperville. My dentist Steve is so awesome, he told me everything I needed to know about it. Apparently the gen 1 and gen 2 caused a lot of pain in patients after the treatment. But this office uses Gen 3 Zoom so that's supposed to be very good. He said it does not have the same effects as the gen 1 and gen 2. So people u all should use the Gen 3 Zoom system!!!
So did anyone use gen 1 and gen 2 zoom and have problems afterwards???
I posted a question about Zoom Whitening system, I recently found out?
Deep Bleaching is the best bleaching system. It is a combination of specially made trays used in the office and then taken home to use. A follow up office visit in 2 weeks with the same trays allows the bleach to really pop! According to the research, the light used with Zoom is not necessary and only costs the dentist a lot of money. I used the Deep Bleaching on a patient with tetracycline stain after she had used the Zoom and the take home trays at different times (with no change in shade), and her teeth whitened at least 2 shades. She could get more if she did another week of home trays...she just got tired of doing it. http://www.dentalmiracles.com/pages/cosm...
I want to add there was NO sensitive with any of this product. A special desensitizing gel is painted on the teeth before each use. She had sensitivity with the other products, but not with the Deep Bleaching and we even use a stronger concentration of bleach on her teeth when she is in the office.
Reply:I was the guinea pig in our office for Gen 1 and 2 zoom. It was horrible. It was very, Very sensitive during and afterward for quite a while, but it works. I have not tried the Gen 3 zoom yet. Have you actually used it yet? Please let me know. With Gen 1 and 2 my teeth ached worse than braces during bleaching and the whole time afterward. By the second round I found a routine that worked. I took Aleve the whole time during bleaching and did and fluoride rinse every time after use. No problems.
Reply:I think your dentist lied! It's still a UV lamp. You still have sensitivity issues. You're better off just getting the trays made, and working on it over a period of time.
Zoom is three solid hours of prep and torture that costs an arm and a leg, and you will surely be sorry for having let yourself get talked into it when there are alternatives available.
Please post your results after you use the "pain free" Gen 3.
Good luck!
