Doctor or Dentist?

My friend also, like me, wants a career in the medical field, but she is having a hard time choosing between becoming a dentist or a family doctor and she is actually very stressed out about it. ANY ideas on which career would be better and why. ~thank-u

Doctor or Dentist?
Why settle for only those 2? There are many types of healthcare providers...instead of stressing why not research into all the different types of jobs that are out there?
Reply:My uncles are dentists. I recommend against it just because of their experiences. They both have severe neck trouble because of the angles at which they have to hold their heads to work.
Reply:i think being a doctor would be nice because she could help people, and not just their teeth, and she wouldn't be limited to working in just the mouth.
Reply:I have read somewhere that Dentists have a high suicide rate. I would go with being a doctor. They don't have to deal with dirty mouths. If you don't like bad breath and that kind of thing I would go with being a doctor.
Reply:pharmacist.

better hours (than doctors), less stress, less malpractice insurance. still have direct patient care/involvement., variety of options in practice setting. in very high demand right now.

ha, ha. now she has one more choice to think about and stress over. :-)
Reply:If your a dentist you don't have to be on call.

Niiiice
Reply:DENTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUCHO DENARO in that field with MUCH LESS malpractice insurance.
