Are you able to have a friend/family member in the dentists office during procedures?

You know, for moral support? I remember watching cycle 5 or 4 of America's Next Top Model, where one girl had to have her teeth pulled, and one of the contestants was in the room with her to offer support. Is that allowed?

Most offices will allow you. Some will not. Ask before you make an appointment.
Reply:In some offices it is, in most, it is not.

It's up to the Doc, and in most cases it's best for the patient to be by themselves...then they only have the dentist and his clinical staff to focus on/listen to.

:)
Reply:It's at the allowance of the Senior Dentist of the facility. Phone ahead to let them know of your intention, and I'm sure there won't be any major problems.

Reply:Every dentist I have known has allowed us in the treatment room while taking care of our children. I don't know about non-family members though.
